Begun in 2003, classes include American & Austrian law students and are held at the Univ. of Vienna. Professors from the Univ. of Vienna participate in the teaching of the classes. Program field trips in the past have included the Vienna Bar, the Supreme Court of Austria, and city sites. This year U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will visit the Vienna program for 1 week.


In this 3-week studies abroad, Oxford University School of Law Professor Sionaidh Douglas-Scott teaches Fundamental Rights in the European Union and the United States.

The Washburn Summer Program provides students an opportunity to understand their legal systems more fully through compara- tive study of the Caribbean system while living in West Indian university environment on the Cave Hill Campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) in Barbados. The program is co-taught by UWI and Washburn law faculty members, and enrolls UWI law students in the courses.
