Provides a comprehensive understanding of the Chinese legal system, the PRC’s domestic and foreign economic laws and all major areas of Chinese substantive law. Students can earn up to 6 ABA-approved credits. Opportunities for clinics and internships available. Tuition includes course materials, banquets and visits to the Great Wall, the Great Hall of the People, a trial, and Chinese law firms.
Comprehensive survey of Chinese law and political & legal institutions providing an unequaled opportunity to observe how China is restructuring its legal, economic & social systems. Curriculum features lectures & dis- cussions at Peking University along with field trips to legal institutions & tours to cultural & historic
sites.Includes 4.5 to 6 hours of transferable ABA-approved credit.
The ABA-approved Georgia Law Summer Program in China is hosted by two of China’s most prestigious institutions of higher educa- tion: Tsinghua Univ. in Beijing and Fudan Univ. in Shanghai. The curriculum focuses on commercial law and international trade and provides an introduction to the Chinese legal system. Coursework (in English) is supplemented with cultural tours and legal field trip.
The program focuses on international transactions in Asia-Pacific region, provides an overview of China’s legal system, and includes visits to a Chinese law firm and China’s Supreme Court and Trial Court. Students compete in an International Intel- lectual Property Moot Court, participate in a clinic at a Chinese law school, and attend a conference with prominent Chinese govern- ment officials.
