Insight BIG BRAND THINKING
iGt answers the call
IGT’s latest video slot range offers an
entertainment and brand-rich extravaganza for operators looking to enliven their floors
Viewing the IGT stand at the G2E show in Las Vegas was akin to a trolley dash at a sweets store, with far too little time to explore the extraordinary themes and concepts on display from a manufacturer whose answer to the economic downturn has been to create an enormous array of ‘simply must-have’ products.
Core products, such as Voodoo Vixens, formed the backbone of the IGT offering, where dual LCDs mixed with 3D graphics to create what the company described as its ‘super stars of the show.’ Dazzling theme Breakfast at Tiffany's displayed a brand new interface and new maths, while Ghostbusters leveraged the Sony brand as Dan Ackroyd signed autographs to the delight of fans on the booth.
Sex and the City returned with the new Fabulous international theme, featuring a host of different bonuses while delivering a top box experience featuring the latest film content, TV series clips and sounds. The latest 3D Elvis title meanwhile, Elvis The King, uses IGT's MLD technology to maximum effect, showing Elvis throughout his life and music, with the base game delivering blasts of music in addition to the usual bonus treats, all delivered by IGT’s stunning glasses-free 3D graphics.

Further new games and big brands on show in Vegas included Atari Centipede and Huevocartoon, plus sequels to successful IGT games including: The Twilight Zone in 3D, The Joker Heist and Ringling Bros. Riches. Wheel of Fortune expanded with new games Wheel of Fortune Triple Extreme Spin and Wheel of Fortune Wild Getaway.
IGT’s Center Stage series expanded its offerings with Wheel of Fortune Experience 2 and Texas Tea, creating a massive real event on the casino floor thanks to the enormous screen (see above). Plus the new Center Stage Duo debuted with Ghostbusters Video Slots (pictured with Dan Ackroyd above), The Dark Knight and industry-first Big Buck Hunter Pro, complete with mechanical gun hardware for an entirely new interactive casino gaming experience.
IGT’s Core Products included the industry’s first community play five-reel slot with Fast-Hit Progressives plus an extensive line-up of three reel, single payline games such as Haywire Multipliers, Blue Blazes Win Zeros! and Classic Sevens OnCore Progressives. G2E debuts included: The Mighty Atlas, Vivaldi’s Seasons, Wolf Run 2 Into the Wild, and Sky Pilot. Adding to IGT’s OnCore Progressives offering of communal three-level, mystery-driven progressives was Huevocartoon and Mount Fortune. Plus IGT showed region specific games like Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) Video Slots.
Finally, IGT’s Video Poker highlight was Build A Wheel Poker, the first dynamic video wheel used in a video poker bonus, with the Universal Slant cabinet featuring a custom poker button panel.
