This two year course is ideal for students who are totally focused on a career and/or higher level course in sport. It is very practically based and includes how the body works and adapts to exercise; coaching and sports development; team and individual sports; outdoor and adventurous activities. In the second year all students complete a work placement in a sport related fi eld. There is also an opportunity to be part of a successful exchange to Sweden, where students experience a different culture and complete part of their outdoor and adventurous activity module there experiencing winter sports, such as downhill and cross country skiing, skating and ice hockey.

Physiotherapy, teaching, sports coaching, leisure management and the uniformed services are just some of the vocational areas into which this course can lead. (See also under Sports Leadership Awards Levels 1, 2 and 3.)

BTEC Sport is more like a family. Lessons are always enjoyable, relaxed and very interesting. I would recommend it to anyone with a keen interest in sport.
