In your second year of advanced study, you can choose to complete the AQA Extended Project Qualifi cation (EPQ). The EPQ is equivalent in value to an AS level and is a project you design yourself that demonstrates planning, preparation, research and independent working.
Past projects have been
extremely varied and have ranged from genealogy, fi lm making, poetry, mental illness, fund raising events, economics, web site creation and animations of volcanic eruption on Mars.
Extended Project qualifi cation will make you stand out from the crowd and enhance your university or job application whilst allowing you to explore a topic of genuine interest to you.
The CoPE certifi cate is excellent in helping you to prepare for the more independent learning required in higher education as well as enhancing your CV with elements such as event organising and fundraising. It is split into six challenges and is offered to students with less than four timetable blocks of study: • Active citizenship • Work related activities • Career planning • Global awareness • Enrichment activities • Research and presentation skills
The CoPe certifi cate is worth 70 UCAS points!
