A Level
Applied Advanced Science is designed to give you a broad scientifi c education which is useful if you wish either to go onto further education and/or gain employment. You will study a range of topics as well as develop laboratory techniques and analytical skills that underpin a variety of jobs. For example, you will learn how to control energy transfers and discover what is happening inside the human body by monitoring the activity of organs. Industrial visits and fi eld-work are built into the course. A level in Applied Science is an excellent course which broadens scientifi c knowledge and supports subjects that require scientifi c knowledge.
GCSE
GCSE Science at the Sixth Form College is taught in the context of real life situations making it easier to understand and much more relevant to the world about us. You will learn about the science of sport, materials and how we use microorganisms in the production of food. It is a double award and opens doors to many careers and level 3 opportunities.
