Specifi c Course requirements: Minimum of 3 D’s at GCSE or VRQ in Hair and Beauty or related qualifi cation and a strong commitment to working in the industry
NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Duration: 1 year (2 days per week based at The Academy plus placement days)
Units include: Provide facial skin care. Enhance the appearance of lashes and brows. Carry out waxing treatments. Provide manicure treatments and pedicure services. Enhance the appearance of the skin using camoufl age techniques. Ensure responsibilities for actions. Promote additional services and products. Develop and maintain your effectiveness at work.
After Level 2: Students can progress to a NVQ Level 3 or seek employment in the industry.
These NVQ/City & Guilds Beauty Therapy courses are provided for Scarborough Sixth Form College by our partners The Academy hair & beauty in Malton and Scarborough. In 2008 The Academy was awarded Beacon Status after Ofsted reported that The Academy is an ‘outstanding’ provider with Grade 1 provision in all areas. BEAUTY Therapy
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Beauty Therapy Duration: 1 year (1 day per week based at The Academy plus placement days)
Units include: Provide body massage, Indian head massage and massage using pre – blend aromatherapy oils. Provide self tanning services and stone therapy treatment. Promote fi nancial effectiveness in the salon. Monitor procedures to safety control work operations. Implement and promote products and services.
After Level 3: Students can progress to a NVQ Level 4, HND or foundation degrees or seek employment in the industry for example in a salon, spa or on cruise ships.
