ilmacolm & quarriers Christian Aid
Kilmacolm and Quarriers Christian Aid Committee plus sixty volunteers worked together during Christian Aid Week in May,
in answer to the door to door annual Appeal. Many people responded with a generous donation, pennies or pounds, in the fi ght to end poverty in the world, every penny counts. Thank you to everyone who gave, or helped, with the annual Appeal.
To all those who walked the Erskine Bridge or sponsored the walkers, in April, again we are most grateful for your involvement in Christian Aid’s fundraising efforts. The offi cial publicity for Christian Aid says it all really - HELP PEOPLE IN POVERTY OUT OF POVERTY. We can but try.

Spring Clean Campaign for Kilmacolm
A huge thank you to an enthusiastic and effi cient group of 13 volunteers who participated in the Kilmacolm Community Cleanup on April 9; we made a huge, albeit temporary, difference. The roads leading into and out of the village are now much cleaner for having been thoroughly litter- picked. We had a lucky day with the weather, the warmest day of the spring to date. Special thanks to Jim Orr, who delivered an entire trailer full of rubbish to the dump, and to Chris and Nora Scott, who arranged for, drove, and paid for the community bus. Thank you to Keep Scotland Beautiful, who provided some equipment and information, and to Brian Hennan at Inverclyde Council, who
coordinated additional equipment use, as well as delivering it beforehand and picking it up afterward. Finally, thank you to the shops that posted fl yers, and to the Advertizer for added publicity. It is likely that this will be the last year that I coordinate this event, so if you’re interested in carrying the spring cleanup torch, please call me (Karen) on 01505 874656. It doesn’t take much planning, many of the volunteers come steadfast and cheerful, year on year, and the results are well worth the effort.
