For many people, a CAMOS SAT-DOME is the best choice of satellite system. Although these have many advantages, the biggest one is that they are completely unaffected by wind; wherever you are and whatever the weather, you can just switch on, sit down and watch TV or listen to the radio - almost anywhere in Europe.
For 2011, Camos are introducing new models with new features and even better performance than the old ones.
There are two types : IN-MOTION which can be used while the vehicle is on the move and STATIC which is used only when stationary. Both models are easy to use - just switch on the controller. They’re also extremely reliable and units which we sold six years ago are still going strong. That’s why we’re happy to give a three or even five-year (when fitted by an authorised RoadPro installer) warranty with all Camos sat-domes.

Against: ! Although a sat-dome is usually no higher than a top-box or
certain TV aerials, on some vehicles the height has to be taken into consideration.
Automatic Folding Systems These include models from CAMOS & KATHRE IN.
This type of satellite system has been around for many years now and there’s a wide choice of makes and models. All of them do basically the same thing but it’s how well they do it that sets one unit apart from another. Dishes are available in various sizes and, throughout the U.K. and France, a 65cm dish will work just as well as a dish twice the size. In fact, a bigger dish only makes a difference to what you can watch in “fringe” reception areas such as southern Spain. For most people, a smaller dish makes more sense as it will be lighter, take up less room on the roof and be less vulnerable to wind. This kind of dish can be round, oval or even rectangular. All do the same job but each has its own advantages and disadvantages.
For: ! Simple to use. ! No preparation required before use. ! Choice of dish sizes for different applications. ! Some models come with a F.T.A. Receiver. ! Most models can be used with several different satellites. ! Low height when in down position - approx. 20-25cms.
Against:
! Fairly complex installation may be required. ! Large dishes are affected by wind & sometimes can’t be used. ! Roof space restricts use of some models on certain vehicles.
PAPSA Automatic Portable Systems
For people who want the easy set-up of an automatic system but don’t want to mount a dish permanently or want to move the dish from place to place, the PAPSA from CAMOS fits the bill exactly. There are several models and you can see them on page 49.
Confused by what receiver to get? There are two main things to bear in mind - see right. For more information, see the relevant pages in this catalogue.
Receivers
For: ! Fully automatic - not a remote-control system. ! Simple to set up and operate. ! Can be moved to avoid trees and other obstacles. ! Choice of models for different applications. ! Low purchase price. ! No installation costs.
! If you’re using a satellite dish to watch satellite channels: See pages 56 - 57.
! If you’re using an aerial to watch Freeview channels: Many TVs have suitable digital receivers built in. However, if your TV is an older model without a digital receiver or if you want additional features, you can use a Freeview / DVB-T receiver. A satellite receiver won’t work. See page 62.
You must use a satellite / DVB-S receiver: there are several different types. Any satellite receiver can be used with any satellite system.
