C

helmer Bridge

is a small club which

has weathered quite a lot of storms over the past year, and survived them well. In many ways it is like our club, with members who like to have fun. Whenever I have attended a function at their club there is always lots of laughter and camaraderie. Not only have they survived but I believe they are stronger now, and I am sure they will continue to grow stronger, especially with Mark at the helm, pushing and aiding our new District Governor Bob Barclay who is also a member of this club.

I

t is a club which I feel we should all continue to support, as they support

us, by attending one another's meetings and events from time to time. I know we are already beginning to bond because we have started to come in for a bit of ribbing, which is always a sign that we are comfortable in one another's presence... .I sat next to this years JVP, who is not only a nice guy but an undertaker by profession. I thought he was giving me some funny looks - I think he was sizing me up! He is also very generous - he said he always puts a cheque in the coffin for friends and Rotarians. I thought that was very nice of him.
