Rotary Jazz Night Saturday 12-Jun-10
W England v USA nil Rotary Jazz Night Won
hen the draw for the
World Cup was made, little did we realize what a dilemma it would cause our club in general, and Jim in particular…. Sales of tickets were not going well, and there was possibility that we would be out of pocket at the end of the day. There was no prospect of canceling or postponing the event as the hall had been paid for, and the band booked well in advance.
B
ut what a GOOD THING that we went
ahead. The night was a great success. Having had the opportunity to hear the band with Jim and John Kent earlier in the year I knew that Rex O‟Dell and the Nicest People were a good band, but it was great to hear the approving comments all around as they began to play. From the first tune till the last the
band, which was in great form, entertained us to the max. Not only were they good musicians with an exceptional mastery of their instruments, they looked as if they were having fun too, and they were very entertaining.
