Message from our Publisher I
G‘day Guys Spring is here!
would like to take this opportunity to say that I am very pleased to welcome Rtn
Jim Haines as a newly appointed Roving Reporter for our BULL. Bearing this in mind I would like you to know that roving reporting can become very demanding and time consuming, as it consists of gathering information and presenting it in an acceptable form for publishing, which at times can become very frustrating awaiting & chasing promises & responses from others, therefore I ask all readers of the BULL to offer encouragement to Jim and provide helpful support with historic, current & future news events. I have got to know Jim over the past couple of years and have noticed that when necessary Jim speaks his mind, something that I think we have all noticed and appreciated! Hopefully, because of Jim‘s open mindedness, you will trust him with your stories and we can then produce an even better BULL full of controversial stories!
I
t is now spring-time, the time of the year that I like to think of shaking the carpets and sweeping away the cobwebs, so also bearing this in mind I have some suggestions & requests that would be nice to achieve over the next few months, i.e. before the next edition of our BULL, if you agree it would help us all to improve and enjoy our BULL even more! I request that at each Speakers meeting or Rotary event there is a
nominated person story writer, as like we have someone nominated to introduce and thank our speakers (I am only asking for a few written words) as our roving reporter and/or editor can then turn your words into an interesting story with their ever increasing writing "skills" I suggest hereunder:- Speakers meetings The Rotarians who introduce and later thank the speaker to provide notes and short story to George or Jim Fellowship events, etc The organisers to provide notes & short stories to George or Jim Presentations of awards The presenter of the awards to provide notes & short stories to George or Jim
T
he notes & short stories can be hand written or preferably emailed to Jim or
George. Photos are also welcome, albeit as you know, both George & Colin always seam to be on the spot with their cameras as our Clubs 'paparazzi', but please bear in mind that our publisher also has the facilities to use your photos, either digitally or from a hard copy photo and can colour scan your original photo and then return your original to you, so please provide (if possible) as many photos or drawings as possible with your stories as it would certainly help with the quality and publishing of our BULL
I
would like to thank all of you that continually provide us with stories and
information, without you we would not be able to publish our BULL. If you haven't provided anything yet then please do so, as even just a little bit of effort from you will make such a big difference to our publica- tion and our fellow readers.
P.S. - special note from Jim, Haines. I was press-ganged............. Ha-ha
