Visit to Jaipur Limb Centre Camp at

Delhi on 29th December 2009

I

t was a great pleasure to make a trip to the Limb Centre Camp organised by the Delhi Branch.

O I

n our arrival in Delhi I contacted the organiser and I was informed that the next camp to

distribute artificial limbs/callipers would be held on 29th and 30th December 2009.I planned up my visit on 29th December at 2-00.

was pleased that all my family members including my 6 year old grand daughter

Maya, who were on holidays with us, could join me to visit the camp. We arrived at about 2-00pm and were met by Mr Sanjeev Kumar who is an organiser and an osteopath.

W

e were taken around the camp and showed every part of it where artificial limbs were

made. Then we met many people who were there to get limbs, pairs of callipers and shoes. These items are given free to the public. I found that the camp is visited by over 200 men, women and children who are treated appropriately. They may be victims of accident, polio or cerebral palsy (in which case the child has paralysed legs.) These children are provided with callipers which make them to walk after brief exercises.
