eorge‘s mother in law, Janet‘s mother Edith Helen Bligh, was born 11th. April


1910 in Tunbridge Wells, Kent. She was one of three girls and had five brothers. Her father was a cabinet maker who hitched down from Scot- land looking for work. As soon as she left school she was sent out to work, ending up in service as a lady‘s maid. She was employed in a variety of the big houses which can still be found in that part of Kent

he has two living children, Janet and Trevor, who lives with his family in


Australia. Trevor has visited our club as a guest and some of the jokes he has sent over have been included in The Bull. She also has four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.


he puts her longevity down to ―clean living and the care lavished on her by her son in
