CREATIVE MEDIA PRODUCTION
Why study the Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production? The BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production is a Level 2 course, designed to give students practical skills and a working knowledge of media production. During the year, students will produce a portfolio of work, including several media products (e.g. short films, magazine articles etc). The course will be mainly practical, although there will be some written work required.
What do I study? You will study four core units and five specialist units. Compulsory units: • research for creative media production • communication techniques for creative media production
• the creative media sector • media audiences and products
Specialist units: • advertising production • print production • video production • media production project • factual production for the creative media
Where does the Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production take me? A BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production may enable you to work in the media industry or progress you onto a BTEC Extended Diploma course.
What do I need? You will need to show that you have initiative, motivation and commitment and are able to work on your own, planning and producing work.
HEALTH & SOCIAL CARE
Why study the Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Health & Social Care? The BTEC Diploma is intended to provide you with an introduction to the Health & Social Care sectors. In particular it will help you develop the knowledge, understanding and skills required of those who work in the Health & Social Care occupations such as their job responsibilities and their relationship with patients or service users.
You will be encouraged to visit a Health & Social Care setting (hospital, homes for the elderly, etc) and learn first-hand about how such services work.
What do I study? There are four core units which cover: • communication in health and social care • individual rights within the health and social care services
• individual needs in the health and social care sectors
• ensuring safe environments in health and social care
In addition there are four optional units which cover: • cultural diversity in health and social care • human lifespan development • creative and therapeutic activities in health and social care
• the impact of diet on health
Where does the Level 2 BTEC Diploma in Health & Social Care take me? The BTEC Diploma in Health & Social Care provides a nationally recognised vocational qualification to enter employment as a Health or Care Worker or to progress to a higher level vocational qualification.
What do I need? You need to show that you have initiative, like to be involved in planning your own work and seeking your own information.
