Unit 2: Media Production Processes This coursework module combines both pre- production, production and evaluation in the form of a written report allowing students to make essential connections between theory and practice. You will be making and analysing your own media products.
Year 2 (AS) Unit 3: Media Investigation and Production This coursework module is in film production and also involves a written investigation into the media, based on one or more key concepts – genre, narrative or representation plus an evaluation. Students also get to script and storyboard before making their own film.
Unit 4: Media: Text, Industry and Audience Students will study three different media industries e.g. British Film, Television and Advertising complementing their analytical and production work. The unit will be assessed by a 2½ hour written exam.
Where does Media Studies take me? Media Studies will benefit anyone with either an interest in the media or those thinking of a related career in Media and Communications, such as Advertising, Journalism and Marketing.
What do I need? A lively interest in all aspects of media and popular culture.
