BUSINESS BTEC COURSES
The Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma and Level 3 Diploma are vocational qualifications to prepare students equally for direct entry into employment or for progression to Higher Education.
Each unit is assessed and graded through assignments based on work- related situations or activities with opportunities for teamwork and in-depth study.
If you do not have a grade C in GCSE Maths or English, the College will expect you to re-sit these.
These are two year courses. At the end of the first year students are expected to have achieved at least a Pass in 8/9 units for the Extended Diploma and 5/6 units for the Diploma.

Why study the Level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business? There is potential for the qualification to prepare learners for appropriate direct employment in the vocational sector and it is suitable for those who have decided that they clearly wish to enter a particular specialist area of work. It is broadly equivalent to three A-levels. Students study the four core units and fourteen other units including; Financial Accounting, Business Law, Team Development and Business Ethics.
What do I study? Students will study a total of eighteen units (four core units and fourteen specialist units). All units will be assessed through an assignment.
Core units: • explore business activity • investigate business resources • introduction to marketing • effective people, communications and information
Specialist units may include: • introduction to accounting • marketing research • recruitment and selection • business ethics • human resources management • managing contracts and legislation • managing teams • managing a business project/event • setting up administration systems • managing information • e-business and internet marketing
