SAM BASELINE ASSESSMENT LICENSING ADVOCATES AT YOUR SERVICE

Our SAM Baseline Assessment is designed to help a business maintain compliance and maximize the return on their Microsoft investment. We'll work with their existing SAM tool (e.g. SCCM, LANDesk, Altiris, etc.) to normalize their inventory data through our cloud-based reconciliation tool. If they don’t have an on-site SAM solution, or prefer to use a secondary source to validate their primary, we offer complimentary training, deployment, and technical support.

SAM MAKES IT SIMPLE

Over the course of 30 days, we’ll review and evaluate their existing SAM processes, policies, and tools, and compare them against the established SAM optimization model. At the end of the engagement they receive a summary of our findings and our recommendations. We will also outline the risks and benefits of their current state and the associated ROI from any improvements.

LICENSING NEED NOT SPIRAL OUT OF CONTROL, LET US MAKE IT MORE MANAGEABLE.

SAM MAKES SENSE

A SAM engagement is about balance—it identifies where clients might be over-licensed, right-licensed, and under-licensed. As a result of the assessment, their environment is not only compliant, but they’ve gained better control over what is owned versus what is actually being utilized, enabling them to right-size initiatives.

THE PROCESS

Step 1: Evaluate the estate and inventory, what is licensed, what is installed, and how it is installed.

Step 2: Compare the categories in Step 1 to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and group by characteristics.

Step 3: Analyze the information collected in Step 2 to identify where things are spot on, where things are short, and where things are over. List the variances.

Step 4: Reconcile the variances between what is owned versus what is installed, identify the instances, and create a plan to deal with all outcomes in Steps 1–3.

Our team of experts leads this analysis, and work is completed in 30–45 days. Our team also conducts the reconciliation and presents the results and findings.

The final phase requires more intense activity around building an action plan. Our customers enjoy staying involved throughout the process, knowing that our goal is to minimize any disruption to productivity.

It is critical to embrace ongoing vigilance to ensure clarity and visibility into the environment. Best practices recommend this becomes a repeatable process. Institute this on an annual, biannual, or even quarterly basis—whatever makes the most sense for [their] organization.
