Staffing Solutions Start with You Job Order Questions
Questions for Customers
Understanding your customers’ staffing requirements is key to discovering how you can help them improve. Here is a list of questions to consider the next time you pick up the phone:
• How many consultants do you have working in your department currently? Is that typical?
• What has been your usage year-to-date? • What special IT projects do you have coming up in the next quarter? • How do you typically cover vacations or training? • What skill levels do you usually hire consultants for? • What staffing needs can I help you with today? • Who else in your company utilizes consultants that I can speak with?
• Are you directly involved in making decision on staffing IT projects? • For both contract and permanent?
• Which consulting partners are you currently using?
• Is there a traditional vendor list involved? • Whom in your HR/Recruitment team should I talk with?
Have an interested party? Ask these questions when accepting a Job Order:
• Is this contract, contract to hire, or a permanent need? • Do you already have approval to hire? • How soon are you looking for this position to be filled? • Why is the position needed? • What are the locations, hours, logistics? • Do you have a full job description that you can forward to me?
• If contract to hire or permanent, what is the permanent salary range that you are offering?
• Do you have a certain budget that you are trying to stay within? (for bill rate purposes).
• How will the interview process work? Phone? Face-to-face?
• Can my IT recruiting team contact you to ask additional questions they may have to qualify your skillset need?
