Empex Watertoys is a privately owned, international corporation with manufacturing facilities in Toronto, Canada.


Established in 1986, it currently employs 25 people and has been an innovator of unique interactive aquatic playgrounds and spray parks since the beginning, providing interactive water play for hotels and resorts, municipal parks and recreation facilities, housing complexes, YMCAs, YWCAs, camping sites, zoos, military bases, water parks and amusement parks.

The company’s product range includes - interactive watertoys, which have self contained pumps and do not require a piped in water feed; Aquatons, a series of whimsical interactive spray features with no moving parts and minimal maintenance; Aquadeks, which are safe, creative and colourful climb and slide water play structures for active children; Aquentics, an array of interactive water play features where water creates a dynamic moving display; Aquaslides, which come in all sizes and designs of custom and colourful fibreglass waterslides for all ages; and last but not least the Aquatecture, which was developed as a result of creatively designing arrangements of these features together, in one place. Empex Watertoys designs and manufactures rugged products strictly from composite and speciality plastics and limited metal components – providing a lifetime guarantee against corrosion. Empex offers complete design services for indoor and outdoor water parks and aquatic playgrounds, with or without standing water. Concept layouts and budget costs are provided free of charge and its products are easily installed without complicated fixtures. The installation procedure of Empex products has also been designed to facilitate the upgrading or changing of the arrangement from year to year.


When Empex Watertoys first entered the industry it was a relatively small company with just a few products to its name and a handful of people. Today it manufactures over 135 products across three manufacturing facilities and has moved its central office to Markham, Ontario, while it services its international clients by working with local representation within the market, which is much more efficient and effective.


One of the manufacturer’s biggest achievements during its time in the industry was when it won the IAAPA Impact Award in 2011, as well as Best Waterpark Product for its Aquacircus. Empex has also won the WWA Innovation award.
