John Hudd Open to Question
JH: Unfortunately, this is systemic to our industry and is very difficult to eradicate. However, this problem has now attained new heights. Certain manufacturers, essentially from the emerging markets, not only copy the attraction, but even use the original manufacturer’s ride name, photos and brochures. IP: What parts of the world would you say are particularly active at the present time with new developments, i.e. completely new parks or investment in new rides, attractions and facilities at existing parks? JH: At the moment the Asian market is by far the most active, but I think we will see more activity from India and South America in the near future. IP: If you had to pick one, which ride project would you say has been the most satisfying or exciting for you/Interlink to do and why? JH: I think that if I had to choose, it would certainly be our Shoot the Chute. By redesigning the boat and incorporating
under water scoops we eliminated many of the inherent problems of this ride such as excessive braking forces and riders getting overly wet. IP: What does the future hold for Interlink? JH: A rosy future I hope!
