P&P Projects
P&P Projects specialises in turnkey projects for the world leisure and attractions industry. For more than 20 years, the Dutch company has been involved in the design, engineering and installation of themed attractions for theme parks, museums and visitor centres across the globe.
P&P was founded in 1989 as a production company specialising in scale models and museum services in the aerospace industry. The company moved into the theme park sector at a time when ‘space’ themes were extremely popular, starting with a space related winter show for Tivoli Gardens in Denmark. When Disneyland Paris opened Space Mountain, the operator called upon the services of P&P, who built highly detailed full scale replicas and arranged artifacts from both the US and Russia for the Space Festival.
After recently completing much-anticipated installations at Efteling Park in the Netherlands and Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi, P&P Projects is currently working on several innovative projects, with numerous future projects in the pipeline.
In April last year, Walibi World in the Netherlands re- launched its popular Vekoma Boomerang coaster. In co- operation with operator Compagnie des Alpes, P&P was responsible for the restyling and theming of the new coaster, which has been renamed Speed of Sound. This totally new rebranding has brought the coaster up to date, in line with the park’s other iconic rides.
“We had the best six months in our existence in the first half of 2012,” said P&P founder, Philipp van Stratum. “We have installed projects for Legoland Discovery Centres in Kansas and Chicago, US, and built and installed a Madame Tussauds in Sydney, Australia, for Merlin Entertainments. At the same time, we were completing the refurbishment of the Amsterdam Madame Tussauds. In addition, we designed and built a second phase at Walibi Holland, where the operator changed the main street, created a hall of fame and added a 5D theatre.”
P&P is currently working on four attractions for various parks. More information is to follow over the coming months.
