Prime Play

Prime Play’s humble beginnings began in 1993 in Delta, Canada, at which time the company employed just 12 people. It has since grown to become well-known within the industry for its soft play systems and is recognised as a leading anchor attraction supplier, offering master planning and design while providing clients with a holistic approach to their needs.

Now a division of WhiteWater West, which has over 500 employees worldwide, it continues to service the global attractions market and is regularly relied on to provide insight into overall design plans for entire facilities.

One of the most poignant times for Prime Play was the introduction of its custom theming service. According to the company, in the late 90s it had the only in-house team in the industry that offered customised, one-of-a-kind themes, providing its clients with original designs and attractions. Today, it has one of the largest and most experienced theming teams in the industry, providing custom design and manufacturing for any type of facility or brand.

The theming team is dedicated to the highest of calibres and through a meticulous design process, beginning with a detailed design workshop, Prime Play’s experts take into great consideration facilities, playability, traffic flow, entertainment value, budget, theming and more, in order to maximise operator return on investment.

Prime Play’s professional designers utilise leading-edge technologies such as CAD generated 3D computer renderings and have worked on a wide variety of world-class projects around the world, so they know the right questions to ask in order to ensure operators’ business objectives are met and exceeded.

Having a substantial amount of experience in the industry globally, Prime Play has seen the play sector change considerably during this time and notes how it is no longer just for children, but has come to focus on the entire family. Passive experiences have been overtaken by interactive experiences that can be shared by the whole family.

As the industry has moved on and developed, Prime Play’s focus has shifted from a primary family entertainment centre focus to serving segmented markets, with products packaged to best accommodate these niche markets.

In particular, the amusement/theme park sector has become 40 InterPark July–August 2012

a very important area with the introduction of Prime Play’s Family Adventure Park. By integrating proven attractions such as Sky Trail ropes courses and CTS Zip Lines, and developing brand new ones such as the Adventure Trail, Prime Play was able to create an immersive environment suitable for thousands of people and catering to the whole family. The Family Adventure Park offers an experience unlike any other by combining safe, family thrills with the exhilaration of adventure for children of all ages and skill levels.

The Family Adventure Park got its big debut in the Castaway Bay at SeaWorld Gold Coast, Australia, in 2010, where it integrates various play systems to create a unique and memorable family adventure. Featuring large capacity and throughput, the Family Adventure Park concept engages a wide demographic and encourages safe, active family attractions that bring out the child in everyone. Combining various components of the Family Adventure Park also provides operators with additional revenue generation through attendance, increased length of stay and increased food and beverage sales.

For every project Prime Play takes on, every detail is managed by one of its expert project managers. Its clients are supported right from the procurement and production process through to a smooth transition into day-to-day operations. Prime Play prides itself on regularly updating clients on construction, shipping and installation dates and with offices worldwide, it has the ability to handle immediate needs and provide superior customer service anywhere in the world. This highly skilled team of project management experts routinely builds large and small projects from the ground up, all over the world.
