20 indicates significant growth in world casting shipments from 2009 to 2010, which is great news for an industry that’s looking to rebound from a terrible recession. But the struggle is that we must look beyond how many molds we put out and how many castings we ship. We must look at the value of the castings we ship. Value can’t be commoditized. Are you machining, providing assembly or painting ser-


vices, rapid prototyping or offering design engineering? Tis is value that adds significant revenue to your castings, and you must be sure you are judged by that value. We must look at our operations and ask, what value are we delivering with these castings? Your customers are.
