China’s Nine Major Casting Markets

he metalcasting industry in China has several areas of development to look forward to through the next few years.
1. Automotive Metal castings are used in many Chinese auto parts, such
as automotive engine blocks and cylinder heads, gearbox housings, intake manifolds, exhaust manifolds, crankshafts, camshafts, pistons, wheel hubs and others. According to industry data, metal castings make up 33% of the total automobile products in the U.S. In China, the cast products account for about 25% of the total. Nearly 10.5% of the total car parts are cast iron castings, 6.4% are aluminum castings, and another 2% are steel and copper-base alloy castings. In the past 11 years, the Chinese automotive indus-
