Furthermore, with the requirements for light- weight vehicles and energy-saving, the demand of nonferrous automotive casting products also will increase. Based on the analysis of suggestions from customers,
domestic demand for engine cylinder blocks, cylinder covers and gearboxes is increasing. Many customers in South Asia, South Africa and central Asia say they are looking forward to these projects.
2. Railroad In recent years, some governments, including China’s,
have invested in developing large-scale railroad projects, which has focused on bullet trains. During the country’s twelfth five-year economic plan (2010-2015), a 30,000-km train line will be installed, with an arranged investment of about 2.8 trillion yuan. By the end of 2015, national railway mileage is expected to increase from 91,000 km to about 120,000 km, among which, 45,000 km will be a high- speed railway. Fifty thousand kilometers of the line will be located in western China, where 50% of the railroad will be double-lines and 60% will be electric. With the rapid development of the Chinese railway transporta- tion industry, the application of high-performance engines, gearbox, wheel and other castings is growing.
