While MP3 players with built-in storage of less than 1GB used to be common, particularly among young users, this category has decreased dramatically by 90.4% in sales volume and 95.2% in sales value. Meanwhile, MP3 players with a memory size of 16GB and above have performed well, in particular the 32GB+ category which has seen a 77.3% rise in sales volume and 77.8% growth in value, helped along by the average price dropping to £188. Sales data from 2010 also shows that consumers are more than happy to part with relatively large sums of cash in order to get the best products around.
