Cedar Grove, NJ, Lodge paid $3,000 for seven teenagers and one adult chaperone to attend the New Jersey State Elks Association’s 17th annual Peer Leadership Conference, a three- day program that develops young people’s leadership skills and helps them fight the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse.

Fargo, ND, Lodge members trained 30 cadets from the North Dakota Civil Air Patrol Cadet Leadership Academy in the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse. Cadets had the opportunity to experience the Fatal Vision goggles, which simulate the effects of intoxica-
tion, and were each given several drug awareness pamphlets.
East Stroudsburg, PA, Lodge mem- bers gave drug awareness bookmarks and pencils to more than 260 third- grade students at Clear Run and Coolbaugh Elementary Centers as part of a dictionary distribution program.
Onancock, VA, Lodge members attended four community events and distributed more than 500 bags filled with drug awareness materials to young participants. ■
