St. Augustine, FL, Lodge, with the help of a $10,000 ENF Impact Grant, inaugurated the third year of its Elks Kids Fit Club Program, which pro- vides weekly exercise programs led by a professional trainer to needy children over a period of 20 weeks. Each week, the exercise program is followed by a presentation by a local health professional on how to live a healthy lifestyle.
Vero Beach, FL, Lodge members honored the winners of their Ameri- canism Essay Contest in a ceremony at Rosewood Magnet School and gave them certificates and gift cards. The lodge received 90 essays from fifth- grade students and named Lisa Pearson (first), Corey Stepanek (second), and Hannah Kimbrough (third) as the contest’s winners.
Cartersville, GA, Lodge members presented a $10,000 ENF Impact Grant to the Christian League Battered Women’s Shelter, which provides temporary emergency shelter to about 2,500 women and children each year, to help support the shelter’s operations.
