BETHESDA has taken its first No.1 in two years with shooter-RPG Fallout: New Vegas.
The sequel to Fallout 3– which also topped the charts in October 2008 – has pushed EA shooter Medal of Honorfrom the top spot. EA’s game saw unit sales drop 48 per cent week-on-week, while its other big title FIFA 11 falls to third place with a 30 per cent sales dip.
New Vegashas also crowned each respective platform chart on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. It sold 29 per cent more units than Fallout 3did in its first week on sale.
Meanwhile, Just Dance 2from UBISOFT saw unit sales increase 39 per cent over last week. The original Just Dance is still in the Top 20, currently sitting in 14th place.
Another popular new entry this week is NINTENDO DS puzzler Professor Layton and the Lost Futurewhich is in at No.4. This sits ahead of other new releases including third person shooter Vanquishfrom SEGA at No.12, brawler EA Sports MMAat No.23 and ACTIVISION music game sequel DJ Hero 2 at No.25.
Nintendo’s Super Smash Bros Brawl, Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed II: Complete Edition and MICROSOFT racer Forza Motorsport 3all re-entered the charts this week following retailer price promotions.
Lastly, several popular games held on to their Top Ten positions, including Wii Party and Wii Sports Resortfrom Nintendo, F1 2010from CODEMASTERS, PES 2011 from KONAMI and Dead Rising 2from CAPCOM.
