FUTURE l The UK media giant has made several staff changes to its Nintendo portfolio. NEIL LONG has been promoted to the newly created position of editor-in-chief these products. He has worked as editor for Official Nintendo Magazine since 2008, before
which he served as editor for MCV. He will be working closely with publisher LEE NUTTER. CHARLOTTE MARTYN will take up the role of associate editor for NGamer. Since joining Future in 2005, she has worked for both of the company’s Nintendo magazines. Finally, former PC Zonebod STEVE HOGARTY returns to Future, joining
the ONMteam as deputy editor after a stint as editor-in-chief of Nordic games site GameReactor. “Future’s Nintendo portfolio is already market-leading, with two quality magazines, our print specials and the recent move into on-console media with Nintendo TV,” said Long. “Charlotte’s promotion is well-deserved and Steve’s return to Future means we can work hard on expanding and improving our portfolio and further strengthening our superb relationship with Nintendo.” Nutter added: “This is an important step forward for our Nintendo portfolio and prepares us for a busy 2011, which sees the launch of a new console and some key game releases. “With Neil, Charlotte and Steve spearheading our efforts across all of our Nintendo brands we’ve never been stronger – and we’re looking forward to growing the portfolio.”
PREMIER PR l GARETH WILLIAMS has joined the PR agency as account manager.
He leaves his most recent position as senior account manager at Barrington Harvey.
He will be handling multiple accounts for Premier, which represents Rising Star, Nordic Games and Doctor Who. “I’m really excited to have joined Premier,” said Williams. “The clients Premier has, and the creative team I’ll be working with, are some of the best in the industry, so when the opportunity arose it was a no-brainer.”
Head of games Simon Byron said: “We’re now a team of seven games- specific PRs within an agency of over 100, making Premier by far the largest entertainment agency in the country.
“Gareth is one of the most popular PRs in the industry and I’m thrilled he’s now part of the Premier PR Team.”
THQ l PATRICE DESILÉTS has joined the publisher’s new Montreal studio. Desiléts was previously the creative director for Ubisoft’s best-selling Assassin’s Creedseries. He will be working on one of THQ Montreal’s two core projects.
