RECOMMENDED: MY FIRST SONGS
DESPITE gaming often being considered by the masses as something of a youth domain, music games tend to resonate with a more mature audience. The likes of Guitar Heroand SingStar are popular among anyone in the teenage years or beyond, but there is very little for considerably younger gamers. Enter Mindscape’s My First
Songs, the first karaoke game to be aimed at a pre-school audience. The title ditches pop hits and guitar riffs for nursery rhymes and other songs long since established among children. Youngsters can sing along to such classics as ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’, ‘The Alphabet Song’ and ‘Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes’. Mindscape UK believes the title will be well-received.
“
“This is a really interesting and seemingly unique product
The game features 20 first songs and nursery rhymes, with original cartoons. Mark Stanger, Mindscape UK
proposition – a karaoke-style title for children aged from three to six- years-old,” says general manager Mark Stanger.
“Instead of featuring contemporary hit music like U-Sing 2, the game features 20 first songs and nursery rhymes. We have also created a new original cartoon to accompany each song.”
There are two versions of each track, and they can all be enjoyed either as solos or duets. My First Songsalso features a range of mini-games based around music, all set in a loveable cartoon world. “We have secured good
distribution for the title, we have a great pack design and a simple concept,” adds Stanger. “We are very confident.”
