Mack Rides

No manufacturer has a more concise knowledge of world theme park operations than one which actually owns a resort itself. Indeed, with a rich history that threads through the contemporary amusement rides sector, Mack Rides solidified its position as a leading player in 1975, when the group cut the ribbon on Europa-Park - the most successful theme park in Germany that welcomed more than four million visitors in 2009 alone.

As a family business, Mack is able to look back on a 230- year history and is today one of the market leaders for the development and construction of amusement park attractions.

Using innovative new developments and customer-oriented ride construction, the German attractions giant has permanently influenced the world of theme park rides to the extent of which many other manufacturers can only dream.

The brand new attraction is a spin ride with multiple patented features. The boats are now able to float freely on the water and rotate on their own axes. Mack’s innovative water gun system - drawn from the group’s other interactive water attractions - is also part of this new spin ride, which requires a minimal degree of maintenance or operational cost.

Outlook

According to managing director Christian von Elverfeldt, Mack Rides is set to enjoy continued success over the coming years. “Several large projects are currently prepared, so that we are expecting a good order situation also for 2010,” he stated.

Spin Rides: A centre of innovation

Despite the global financial crisis in 2009, Mack Rides continues on an almost unfounded upward trajectory. Several high-profile new developments, along with a much- lauded German quality standard approval, guaranteed a stable order book for the company, which continues to operate at full capacity.

Mack recently furnished its roller coaster segment with a new Launch Coaster design, the first of which, Blue Fire, opened at Europa-Park and has already become a crowd favourite.

Elsewhere, French park Fraispertuis City and Six Flags Great America in Illinois have cut the ribbon on a new interactive water ride, Pirates Attack. While embarking on an adventurous boat trip, passengers have to defend themselves against a range of characters equipped with water cannons.

Further recent installations include a new YoungSTAR roller coaster in Parque Warner Madrid, Spain, in which passengers go on a wild chase with iconic cartoon characters Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote.

Twist ‘n’ Splash

One of Mack Rides’ most recent innovations comes in the shape of Twist ‘n’ Splash, a new interactive water fun ride for all the family. Combining the fun of an interactive boat blaster ride with the movement and technology of the group’s famous Tea Cup Ride, Twist ‘n’ Splash is ideal for both large and small theme parks, hotel resorts and waterparks.
