4D effects theatres
Utilising the latest, state-of-the-art technology, Simworx can provide a full turnkey installation, building an effects theatre from scratch or utilising an existing room/building and transforming it into a brand new - and highly successful - attraction. The theatres offer almost unlimited seating capacity with a full range of effects, including those incorporated into the theatre seats. These include seat drop, vibration and 3DOF Seat Movements, along with leg ticklers, water spray, air blast, wind, snow, bubbles, aroma and low smoke. Various combinations of these effects can be used depending on the film being viewed.
A complete range of high definition projection solutions to suit any size of venue is also available, along with surround sound, and while there is an ever-expanding library of 4D films on offer, Simworx also uniquely provides cost effective custom films for all products.
For venues looking for a smaller effects theatre option, Simworx also offers the 4D Movieride which with its own enclosure, comes with 8, 12, 18 or 24 seats and most of the effects features as found in the larger theatres.
Effects theatre installations Simworx has enjoyed considerable success in recent years with its effects theatres, with installations taking place around the world at a variety of venues. These have included:
• A 152-seat 4D effects theatre at Drayton Manor Theme Park, UK.
• A ‘5D’ effects theatre at the Dutch theme park Familiepark Drievliet, featuring the conversion of the park’s old Cine 180 dome building.
• A 40-seat 4D effects theatre at The Beatles Story Museum, UK.
• A 4D effects theatre at the London Science museum, the first 4D theatre to open in the English capital.
• A 100-seat 4D effects theatre at the world famous Land’s End site in Cornwall, England.
• A 4D effects theatre at the International Antarctic Centre in New Zealand, the first 4D attraction in the country.
Stargazer – the ultimate experience For the “ultimate” in motion base 4D simulation experiences, Simworx offers the Stargazer. This provides a full range of motion via a six degree of freedom (DOF) motion base and features seven seats on each platform.
The full dynamics of a motion theatre are combined with a range of 4D effects – integrated into the seats are leg ticklers, air blast, water spray and aroma, while in-theatre effects can include snow, bubbles and low smoke. The Stargazer is available with complete 3D projection systems and surround sound and using a number of systems, any number of seats can be supplied (in multiples of seven) and in a variety of layouts.
Capsules
Simworx also continues to produce a wide range of capsule simulators, including the Morphis 20 (with the option of 4D effects), the mobile Morphis and the Morphis ESP 8-seater. Among the company’s most recent projects in this sector has been the supply of a Mobile Morphis Movieride Theatre to Walt Disney Corporation’s European promotions agency, used to promote the Disney film Race to Witch Mountain and featuring a custom produced film starring the characters from the movie.
Film content
In addition to one of the world’s largest film libraries covering a range of adventure, action, sport and educational subject matter, Simworx also creates custom film content for a wide range of clients, from entertainment venues to education based facilities, working with specialist film producers.
