Additionally, Zamperla prides itself on being an innovative company which introduces new concepts and products each year and maintains a “one stop shop” commercial strategy with its ability to supply all types of ride from children’s attractions to major roller coasters. Indeed its product portfolio covers over 90 different attractions.
Products
The company has enjoyed great success with rides in all sectors, in particular in the family ride market with products such as the Rockin’ Tug and Crazy Bus, as well as in the major/thrill rides sector with rides such as the Disk’O Coaster, which has sold over 15 examples, and one of the more recent additions to the range, the Hydro Lift.
Also in the thrill ride category is another of Zamperla’s latest products, the new Air Race, which was due to make its debut at Coney Island in the US at the end of May. The attraction simulates the experience of fighter pilots in pursuit of one another, complete with enough G-forces to satisfy even the hardiest of amusement ride thrill seekers.

Antonio Zamperla S.p.A. is the largest of the Italian ride manufacturers and one of the market leaders in the supply of major, family and children’s rides.
The company was founded in the 1960s and has its headquarters in the town of Altavilla Vicentina in northern Italy. Founder Antonio Zamperla began the business by building smaller versions of popular adult rides, thus catering directly to the children’s market, introducing rides such as mini bumper cars, the Convoy, the mini Avio, Balloon Race and others that became best sellers.
In 1976, Zamperla began to “spread its wings” outside Italy, opening a subsidiary of the company in the US which was run by Antonio’s son Alberto, the current President. The company continued to grow over the years, introducing many new rides and attractions and completing many projects around the world. Among the most prestigious of these was the supply of seven out of 12 rides to Euro Disney, a great challenge for the company during which time it took the opportunity to develop a highly skilled team of technicians, craftsmen and engineers who today make up one of the most successful ride and attraction design and development teams in the world.
Now, in the 21st century, Zamperla is a multi-national organisation with affiliated companies and sales/ representative offices throughout the world. Delivering approximately 150 attractions annually to customers worldwide, the company is a key player in the industry and is proud of a number of particular strengths. These include the knowledge, expertise and management of every aspect of production that culminates in the finished product, thus providing even the most demanding of customers with a reliable and trustworthy partner.

Another key aspect of the company is its roller coaster department which continues to gain credibility thanks to the on-going development of the coaster product line and the success of its various coaster projects. The Volare flying coaster, for example, in which riders lie down, now has seven versions in operation around the world, the most recent of which opens in June in North Korea. Additionally, Zamperla offers the Twister coaster, a spinning coaster, and the MotoCoaster, a compact launch coaster which utilises an innovative pedestal seating design for maximum safety, comfort and rider freedom. The fifth example of this ride opened at Särkänniemi in Finland in early May, while also soon to open is the Dino Junior Coaster in Dinosaur Park, China, a gravity coaster with a 530m customised track and

MotoCoaster style vehicles featuring a special dinosaur theme. This will be another new product for the Zamperla product range.
And among the latest developments in the company’s coaster department is a new project for a major coaster called 3nverted, which will represent a further step forward in this sector of the industry. This will be a gravity coaster featuring a 30m high lift, a 606m long track and three different inversions.
