Bertazzon
Located in the Treviso area of northern Italy, Bertazzon 3B produces a range of different amusement rides and attractions, being particularly well-known throughout the industry for its wide range of bumper cars, for both adults and children, and an equally varied range of Venetian carousels, including both single and double decker models.
Other products include major rides such as the Matterhorn and Music Express, the Swing Carousel (Waveswinger), the Rodeo track ride, dark rides and petrol and electric powered go-karts. A new bumper car model is introduced every three or four years.
The company’s products are available for both static site and travelling operation and can be themed and customised as required. All aspects of production are carried out “in house,” including the machining of parts, woodwork, painting and fibreglass, with outside contractors being used only occasionally for specific areas such as hot-dip galvanising. Expert craftsmen and experienced artists carry out painting, decoration and finishes which are all completed by hand.
Bertazzon is a very traditional company with a very specific product range and although it introduces new attractions occasionally, it is renowned for the high quality of what is, compared to many other Italian manufacturers,
a relatively small range of products. But it is one that is extremely popular and successful and highly respected within the worldwide industry, as can be gleaned from the company’s impressive client list which boasts names such as Gardaland, the Vienna Prater, Alton Towers, Port Aventura, Phantasialand, Kuwait Entertainment City, Disney Downtown, Six Flags and Mundo Divertido, to name but a few.
Products Among the projects being worked on at the time of writing was the production of a single floor dark ride of approximately 35m. x 16m. The decoration on the front of the ride is made entirely of fibreglass and themed to a British castle style, while the interior theming is based on the house of a “mad scientist,” with each of the eight, fully themed interior zones reproducing a different area of the house. These include the entrance, office, laboratory, basement, etc., with each area, not surprisingly, featuring a few surprises for the visitor.
The ride will feature 10, four-seater vehicles based on an existing Bertazzon model and all will be themed in the style of a hearse, as requested by the client. The ride is scheduled to be delivered to an amusement park in Central America in July.
