Golden Horse
AFTER more than 20 years, Golden Horse Amusement Equipment Co. Ltd. continues to go from strength to strength.
The well-established company, which offers more than 200 types of product from small children’s rides to large roller coasters, was originally set up by the Chinese government as a machinery factory back in the 1960s. In 1983 Golden Horse took their first steps into the amusement park industry when it began to produce rides and reformed as a private company in1999.
With a turnover of more than US$30m a year, Golden Horse now provides its expert services to the USA, Russia, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Vietnam, Indonesia and India. The company now has a total of 1,200 employees covering all departments including engineering, design, production, quality control and sales.
The most recent rides to come off the production line are the 30-seat Frisbee, Launch Tower (48m high), Double-Deck Carousel for 68 riders and Shoot the Chute (30m high).
Among its projects for the future, Golden Horse is currently building a theme park in Zhongshan, China. This will incorporate a waterpark which will open this summer, while the theme park element is due to open in the second half of 2011. The company is also due to develop a number of new attractions in the coming months, including a major roller coaster, water coaster, family coaster, 4D theatre, a giant Ferris Wheel and others.
The company has completed a number of recent installations at various venues, including those at Shanghai Happy Valley, Shanghai; Chengdu Happy Valley, Chengdu, Sichuan; E-DA Theme Park, Kaohsiung, Taiwan; Taian Fantawild Theme Park, Taian, Shangdong; Baiyun Theme Park, Guiyang, Guizhou; Anji Zhongnan Baicao Garden, Anji, Zhejiang; and The Gulf Park, Xiamen, Fujian, among others. Multiple installations have taken place at Happy Valley (Shenzhen, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu), Fanta Wild Theme Park (Wuhu, Taian, and Shantou), Taman Safari (Jakarta, Bali) and elsewhere.
