Established for over 30 years, Garmendale Engineering’s core leisure division has built a reputation for manufacturing a comprehensive range of quality, reliable products for theme parks, FECs, shopping malls, zoos and other attraction venues.
The UK based company specialises in the development of rail trains and kiddie rides, road trains, theming and structural work, ride refurbishment and maintenance, and ride gate systems.
Projects Garmendale has secured several key UK contracts over recent months, including the full re-design and build of the iconic Sea Monster roller coaster at Crealy Great Adventure Park; the installation of the Kobra centrepiece at Chessington World of Adventures’ new Wild Asia project; and the supply of the ride gates for LEGOLAND® Windsor’s new Huss Pirate Ship.
At the end of the 2009 season, after a thorough inspection, it was decided that the 50-seat chairlift at Needles Park on the Isle of Wight would need a major overhaul. Garmendale was commissioned by Heritage Great Britain to strip down the Bull Wheel mechanism on the island’s most famous landmark. After performing a complete renovation, the mechanism was then taken back to site and re-installed ready for the 2010 season.
Garmendale has been expanding at such a rate that the group recently relocated to new, more spacious headquarters. Garmendale said the new 1,000sq m workshop will give a greater flexibility when it comes to meeting clients’ briefs.“It has been a busy 12 months for Garmendale,” the company
said. “This additional space has allowed us to split the original workshop building into a general fabrication area and separate electrical department.”
