CHILD CARE Mission in Action
“I am a parent at Benchley Weinberger and currently use the YMCA for before and after school care for my son Max. He is in 3rd grade although he has been attending since he was in Kindergarten.
All of the staff members have been extremely enjoyable to work with.
This is not just a “daycare” service that drops

the kids in a middle of a room with some paper and cray- ons. This is a program that enriches my child with the many “extras” that I am sure are not provided at other facilities. When I arrive to pick up my son, he is always engaged in something – be it art projects, music, athletics, etc.
The staff are truly interested in the enrichment of the chil- dren and are always excited to provide them with new and interesting things to do. They are currently working on a garden and my son last night was bubbling over with excite- ment when he told me how they were preparing for it. They did not just toss some seeds in the ground, this event has been building for weeks with a “democratic” tally of which things the kids and families wanted to plant, etc.
I can’t imagine many other facilities would take the time and effort that I know the Y puts into our program. On behalf of our family, we are thrilled to have such a great place for our son to spend his time away from home.”
Best regards, Joy Jones YMCA Child Care Parent
