ANNUAL EVENTS & GIVING COME TO AN EVENT

OUR CASE: Here at the East County Y, strengthening our community is our cause. We are committed to providing affordable, high quality programs and facilities, opening our doors to anyone who wants a place to learn, grow and thrive.

We have worked side-by-side with our neighbors to ensure our ability to offer affordable child care and day camps to families, develop leadership programs for youth and teens, strengthen families with health and fitness classes, and many other programs that promote a healthy spirit, mind and body. Forty-five thousand people of all ages and walks of life turn to one of our three facilities each year. They know we are here for them, because we’ve been here for them the last 55 years. And yet, we want to do more!

Thanks to the generosity of others, our Y welcomes and nurtures approximately 1 out of 10 households living in East County. We can do better! We’d like to have an impact on the lives of 2 out of 10 households by 2012. Lasting personal and social change can only come about by working together. We can and will increase our outreach. Join us - we could use someone like you!

There are many ways you can support your community and all gifts truly make an impact.

MAKE A GIFT

Every gift, large or small, makes a tremendous difference in the lives of thousands of children, families and seniors every year. Here are a few simple ways that you can help to support your community through the East County Family YMCA. •

The Annual Giving Program. See page 7 for details.

• Make an Endowment Gift (see below for Heritage Club information).

• Make a Matching Gift. More than 1,000 corporations nationwide offer programs that match the gifts made by their employees to non-profit organizations. Why not double the value of your gift to the Y at no cost to you?

• Do you give to United Way? Designate the East County Family YMCA. Contact Laura Merritt, at 619-464-9622 x8125 for more informaiton.

JOIN THE HERITAGE CLUB

Leave a legacy with an estate gift to the Y! The Heritage Club members are individuals and families who have planned gifts from their estates to the Y Endowment Fund and may be designated to the East County Y. Gifts can be bequests from wills, charitable trusts, life insurance, retire- ment funds and outright gifts of cash or property. Earnings from endowment funds will be used to fund future YMCA programs for generations to come. Interested in learning more, please contact Laura Merritt at 619-464-9622 x8125.
