2009 SHAPING UP AS THE YEAR OF THE FAIRIES
IN AUSTRALIA
2009 is shaping up to be The Fairies biggest year yet. The
third season of the TV series is officially commissioned, the
stage shows are touring nationally, merchandise is rolling out
to retailers and The Fairies successful retail stores/dance stu-
dios are being franchised around Australia.
Series three of The Fairies has been commissioned by Chan-
nel 7 and Nickelodeon on the back of the ratings success of
series one and two and the ever increasing popularity of the
brand in Australia. The third series, filled with new charac-
ters and storylines will go into production in February fol-
lowed by on air broadcast in mid 2009. Weta Workshop will
be creating the sets for the new series, ABC Commercial has
picked up the distribution rights and Haven Licensing are the
newly appointed licensing agent.
The Fairies flagship shop in Adelaide has been a retail success,
with over 500 children through the doors each week. The
store boasts a Fairyland room which hosts dance lessons,
birthday parties and school holiday fun and the store also
features 150 various Fairy products for sale.
The Fairies stores are now rolling out franchises across the
country with the Sydney store to open in March 2009 in Campbelltown and an additional nine stores to
open by June 2009. Another 50 regional and city stores will also roll out by 2010.
Creator Jen Watts is thrilled with the overwhelming success of The Fairies, “the pink world of The Fairies

little girl, we strive to produce an age-appropriate and adored concept that is full of friendship, fun, music,
