The Rise has more recently been used by Cardiff as office accommodation and was brought to auction with a guide price of £595,000+, but sold for £1.6million, making it the single largest sale at a Welsh property auction on record.
The previous record was also held by Seel & Co at £930,000, when they were instructed by Cardiff Council to dispose of a former youth hostel on Wedal Road in Roath Park in March 2016. This was set at a guide price of £350,000.
