M-SPARC, WALES' FIRST DEDICATED SCIENCE PARK ON COURSE TO OPEN ITS DOORS IN EARLY 2018

and budget. M-SParc offers 2,900 sq.m of lettable space configured as 40 office spaces ranging from 14.5 sq.m–250 sq.m (two person to 30/35 person offices), 17 laboratories for between three and eight researchers and two 140sq.m double- height workshops.

Coleg Menai gets £6.75 million Welsh Government boost for state of the art engineering centre The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams has announced a £6.75 million Welsh Government investment in a state of the art further education engineering centre on Coleg Menai’s Llangefni Campus, as part of the 21st Century Schools and Education Programme. Total investment in the centre is worth £13.5 million.
The centre will enable the college to support a number of additional places for engineering students studying for both vocational and technical qualifications. The new centre will be located on the same campus as the £50m European Nuclear Skills Centre of Excellence set up by Horizon Nuclear Power / Lockheed- Martin. This will help students develop their engineering skills in support of the ‘Wylfa Newydd’ project. Kirsty Williams said, “This project will not only benefit students wishing to strengthen their engineering skills but also the local economy, allowing highly skilled engineers to live and work in an area which will see major investment with the Wylfa Newydd development. “The centre will also enable older students and other learners to enhance their skills, improving wider employment prospects.”
