e recently had the sheer thrill of testing the Audi RS7 Sportback and have returned, neither shaken nor stirred, to report that this a supremely quick car, but one that delivers its pace smoothly and easily and, should you be experienced and responsible enough to handle it, it’s a car which is as comfortable and pleasurable to drive as it is quick. We should cut to the chase and begin with those startling stats: a top speed of 155 mph and 0-62 acceleration in a scintillating 3.7 seconds.


Audi know how to build fast cars. But this four-door, four-seat coupé with 605bhp at its disposal is also stable, extremely comfortable and superbly engineered. The quattro permanent all-wheel-drive with Sports differential makes the RS feel like it’s moving on rails and the balance and control in cornering is outstanding. The raw power of this exceptional engine is harnessed and distributed by the RS-specific Adaptive air suspension, RS high-performance braking and an Electromechanical power steering
