David has been involved with the Gaming Industry for over 30 years. Beginning as a member of the media, fi rst as a publication Editor then creating Casino International; a dedicated standalone magazine for the international land based gaming sector. David moved into a supplier sector and has worked in Media and Communication roles with four major European Manufacturers. One of his primary ambitions has always been to bring the media and it’s readerships closer together, establishing inclusive media messaging, for the good of the entire industry

Lifetime Achievement Award Ron Goudsmit
Marcin joined Rank in 2018, aged in his late 20s. He was instrumental in establishing Rank Group’s Transformation team which helped deliver industry-leading improvement and which sets Grosvenor on a trajectory towards record results, prior to the pandemic in March 2020. During the pandemic he led on the divestment of Rank’s business in Belgium, in turn strengthening Rank’s balance sheet at a critical time”. “The judges believe Marcins nomination is very impressive. Not only has he achieved an enormous amount in a very short time span, it is obvious his trajectory will continue and take him to the top of the industry
Ron has been involved in the casino industry for 45 years, beginning his career as a dealer with Holland Casino Zandvoort back in 1976. Over the years he has held various executive position within Holland Casino and has been responsible for all their international business, setting up casino projects all over Europe and in Canada. Ron was one of the fi ve founding fathers of the European Casino Association back in 2005 and was it’s fi rst Vice Chairman. He served as Chairman of the Board from 2006 to 2015, before he was appointed the ECA’S fi rst Honorary President in 2015

Along with attracting more than 15 million customers in its fi rst decade, The Hippodrome also employs 680 people whilst still turning a healthy profi t. In 2022 they saw a busier, more productive and highly successful year for the business. The post-Covid recovery was prepared for during the months of closure and curfew, including major infrastructure works on a new three tier outdoor terrace and two new food and beverage outlets. Major investment in new technology has also meant a better gaming experience with enhanced customer safety
