Management franchises Jackson Fire & Security

Rachel Evans

Rachel is the marketing manager at Jackson Fire & Security.

Tell us a little about the service you supply… Jackson Fire & Security meets every facility’s working need for fire safety, including fire alarms and fire extinguishers, and robust security equipment, including intruder alarms and CCTV for businesses. We ensure our customer’s premises adhere to legal fire safety regulations and are protected with effective security systems.

What will a typical day for a franchisee be like? There isn’t a typical day as a Jackson Fire & Security franchisee. They could be producing design drawings for a CCTV system or meeting a large client talking about the service schedule for the month. Our franchisees spend a lot of time networking at local business events and meeting potential new clients.

What training and support do you provide initially, and ongoing? Our training is an initial six-week course where we provide our franchise owners with a programme that covers every aspect of the business. Our course is designed to ensure that every new franchise owner gains the knowledge, skills and, above all, the confidence required to begin developing a thriving Jackson Fire & Security business. We include a series of industry-

accredited fire safety courses, providing our franchise owners and their team with the ability to work within our gold-

standard accreditations. We also equip our franchisees with training on all aspects of our business, such as sales, quoting, operations management and project management, and this level of support is ongoing throughout the franchise term.

What’s so rewarding about running a management franchise? Our franchisees feel they are building something of real value, which can become a huge asset for them in the future. With the Jackson Fire & Security model, there is scope to grow the business to manage a team of multi-skilled engineers and office staff, consistently growing levels of turnover and expanding into new market sectors.

What are the benefits of investing in and operating a franchise with Jackson Fire & Security? Over 25 years we have developed a reputation as a leader in what we do. We have gold-standard industry accreditations, which our franchisees operate within from day one. These open doors to work with large organisations, such as universities, housing trusts and facilities management companies. We are the only fire and security

franchise offering this opportunity in an otherwise hidden industry. The fire safety services we provide are a legal requirement backed up by UK legislation and the security solutions we offer are becoming a necessity for business premises, so the demand for our services is constantly

growing. Often, companies use multiple providers for their fire and security solutions, but Jackson Fire & Security can provide one cost-effective solution and offer a more streamlined local service.

What are you looking for in a franchisee? We require no previous industry experience in order to run our franchise opportunity, but a sales or managerial background will be of particular advantage to anyone applying. A candidate with strong interpersonal skills, an appetite for growth and a passion for customer service will thrive in this stimulating and challenging role.
