institutions, pharmaceutical enterprises, pharmacies, and the destruction caused

states, are also used.

Specialized equipment can even mimic gastrointestinal mechanical contractions during dissolution testing, which

is especially important for prolonged-release dosage forms. Some dissolution methods allow simultaneous determination of drug release kinetics and in vitro permeability across an intestinal-simulating membrane or a Caco-2 cell monolayer, while others reproduce digestion and permeability processes. Based on results from such innovative tests, pharmacokinetic (bioavailability) profiles can be modeled for different population subgroups, enabling optimization of drug development prior to costly preclinical and/or clinical studies. Even from these few examples,

it is clear that the relentless progress of science and technology, through both breakthrough discoveries and incremental innovations at various levels of application, defines the present and future of the pharmaceutical industry. Since February 24, 2022, due

to russia’s war against our country, Ukraine has found itself in dire circumstances. Despite the war, despite the deaths of our military and civilians, the occupation of our territories along with educational

in its broadest sense — from higher education institutions to companies and regulatory bodies — continues to operate, having adapted to extremely adverse conditions. And while in Ukraine every day, due to war, “X tens of kilotons” in TNT equivalent are detonated, destroying ecosystems and towns, the world — as cynical as it may sound — is already moving toward Pharma 5.0, aimed at a sustainable, human-centered/ personalized, and technologically innovative approach to drug development and manufacturing. This includes the implementation of machine learning, integration of artificial intelligence, and the use of digital twins, among other tools. Today, many of our compatriots are dispersed across the world. Numerous students, professionals, and researchers have already experienced firsthand the advantages and shortcomings of Western enterprises, education, and healthcare systems. For the first time in modern history, both Ukrainians and Europeans in different countries have had the opportunity to objectively compare professional capacities and human potential. We have seen that we have nothing to be ashamed of: our potential is immense,

though challenges remain. Despite the war, our industry — of which you are the foundation — must continue moving in the right direction, in unison with the developed world and in line with global trends, to remain relevant, educated, competitive, and to speak the same professional language as the progressive part of humanity. Moreover, we should participate in shaping these new trends — because we are capable of it.

On behalf of myself and

the editorial board, I would like to thank everyone who, in these difficult times, contributed content and advertising to this issue dedicated to solid dosage forms.
