HKIA continues to be a work in progress, but so far, Fabre is pleased and feels there is potential to work together with CDFG on other projects in other territories. “CDF, they have ambitions, regional and
global. We are the same. We have regional ambitions and we have a global presence, and ambitions for new territories where we aren’t yet present. “We also recognise that as the market
becomes more consolidated and more mature, you have to go further field into more emerging markets. We don’t necessarily hold all the cards in this instance and are not always willing to take on all the risk together. “So, it does make sense when there’s
Starboard sets sail on Spectrum of the Seas
Starboard Cruise Services is showcasing its retail offer on Royal Caribbean’s Spectrum of the Seas, the cruise line’s first purpose- built vessel for the Asian market. TRBusiness understands a VIP unveiling of
the ship took place in Malaga, Spain (11-15 April). The vessel then headed to Barcelona before embarking on a 51-day cruise to its new base port of Shanghai. From there, a three-day inaugural cruise
will depart in June (3-6 June). Several brand firsts are available on
board including Marc Jacobs, Titoni of Switzerland, Breitling and Jo Malone. Luxury boutiques from Bulgari, Tiffany & Co, Cartier and Omega will also open. Starboard has enjoyed a ‘robust
beginning’ to 2019. The launch of the company’s stunning new retail programme on Costa Cruises’ Costa Venezia vessel in March was preceded by an unveiling on Dream Cruises’ Explorer Dream. As reported, Starboard’s Costa Venezia retail operations span more than 8,000sq ft.
Operations at Istanbul Airport ‘unprecedented’
İGA Havalimani İşletmesi (İGA) hailed the ‘seamless’ transition of operations from Istanbul Atatürk Airport to the new mega- hub as ‘going smoothly and exactly as planned’ on 6 April when it commenced trading fully. This coincided with the significant shift
of all Atatürk’s flight schedules, including that of flag carrier Turkish Airlines, over a 33-hour period. Kadri Samsunlu, CEO and Chairman of the Executive Board at İGA Airport Operations said in a statement: “This exercise was simply unprecedented.
