The early tale of Neptune is not particularly straightforward. Nevertheless, it emerged via the sequence of events involving Phoenix, London Bridge and Harland as a significant player in Africa. Equinox has proved to be a cost-effective solution and has seemingly had trouble-free implementations. The system is fairly broad, has attracted a considerable amount of development work, and is in the hands of a supplier that understands the local markets. The next chapter then started to unfold, following the belated arrival of Rubikon. This looked an interesting offering and started
to gain takers and live sites. It was intended to finally fulfil Neptune’s ambitions of moving outside of Africa. Non-African takers were gained but the bulk of the supplier’s business remains firmly in its African stronghold, with the base here having been broadened for new territories over recent years.
