Kao Chemicals Europe COMPANY PROFILE

Consumer demands have evolved concurrently with their awareness of health, wellness, professional care, and customisation based on their individual needs and environmental sustainability. Kao Chemicals Europe, a subsidiary of the Kao group, is aware of the need to create products that are kinder to the environment, help answer the individual demands of consumers and allow proper care for skin health.

In line with these market trends, three systems have been developed within the Skin Care field: • An Oil-in-water emulsion based on AMIDET®

an outstanding conditioning performance. When it is incorporated into a Skin Care Cream (C-128) formula, it creates lamellar structures that guarantee the stability of the emulsion by a double stratum of amphiphilic molecules concentrated in the O/W interface. The high quantity of water trapped in the lamellar structures is immediately available when the emulsion is applied on the skin, leaving a fresh and light feel.

• Beauty products from Japan tend to be associated with efficacy, high-quality and benefit-led features. PENETOL GE-IS and EXCEPARL IS-CE-A are two ingredients developed by

Kao Corporation for Skin Care that bring the J-Beauty trend closer to the Western lifestyle. PENETOL GE-IS is an emulsifier for W/O emulsions specially designed to avoid a sticky feeling and is easily spreadable. EXCEPARL IS-CE-A is a great moisturising emollient with a skin biomimetic structure and non-greasy feel. The formula C-323: Kao Skin Care Cream – high water content W/O is a clear example of efficacy and high quality with benefit-led features that represent the J-Beauty trend.

• Three different oil in water emollient systems based on the combination of anionic and non-ionic emulsifiers:

C-329: Hand Cream – Rich feel is a moisturising hand cream developed with LEVENOL H&B, a very mild to the skin and eyes plant-based emollient, that enables a rich skin feel formula suitable for all family members.

C-326: Body Cream – Light creamy feeling is a moisturising body cream that contains EXCEPARL LM-LC, a 100% natural green-emollient, which delivers to the formula a soft spreadability with fast absorbing when applied to the skin. As well, it is a good choice for sensitive skin thanks to its nice light creamy feeling.

C-325: Body Cream – Silicone feel is a moisturising body cream with a velvety-soft skin feeling thanks to KAO SOFCARE GP-1 that delivers a nice light creamy feeling with low oiliness residue to the skin.
